The Bolognese culture can boast many important musicians of the past as protagonists. The town chronicles often contain historical documents written in humorous or witty dialect which had appeared in diaries or magazines and describing some Bolognese musical events influencing the town’s cultural life and customs and arousing popular interest. Here is a short anthology with some of these writings about Carlo Broschi Farinelli, Sebastiano Tanari, Gioacchino Rossini, Giuseppe Verdi, Richard Wagner and Stefano Gobatti. Some short explanatory notes highlight the context in which they were written. Click here to request the complete text (Italian version only)
