Considering
“Due studi armonici” for instrumental groups (1991), in “Moto
perpetuum” for 8 instruments, simple major and minor triads alternating
upon transposition grades based
on a random series composed of 110 figures are used.
In
“Notturno” (1991),
the material used is based exclusively upon
three four-sound chords which complete the dodecaphonic whole in a
canon form. Every chord is given to a different four-instrument group; the
first group (cl.1,cl.2,cl.3,vla) develops the 1,5,6,10 chord, which
originates a three-voice unison canon and
a free voice. The second group (fg. Cr.1, cr.2,vcello) develops the 2,3,7,11
chord, which originates a double unison canon, while the third group (fl.,
ob., vn., vn.2) develops the 0,4,8,9 chord, originating a double unison
canon. The transposition grades form a series of 20 figures
(1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2). The three groups fit in by
revolving kaleidocyclically.
